Faneuil Watch Tool Co. Type 1a2 watchmakers lathe, made from 1887 to early 1890s.

Faneuil Watch Tool Co. Type 1b watchmakers lathe, made from 1890s to about 1895. Type 1c is identical except engraved "STEEL" on left-hand end of bed; Transitional lathes resemble this except for different spindle bearing
Faneuil Watch Tool Co. Type 2a watchmakers lathe, made from about 1895 to 1901.
Lancaster Special lathe made by Faneuil Watch Tool Co. about 1899, and sold by L. C. Reisner (a jewelers supply house) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Several other supply houses sold similar lathes, (usually) with their own markings.
Faneuil Watch Tool Co. Type 2b watchmakers lathe, made from 1902 to 1905. Type 2c, made from 1905 to about 1910(?), is identical to this except engraved "Rivett Lathe Mfg. Co." Type 2d, if it exists, would be identical except engraved "Rivett Lathe & Grinder Co.". Ideal lathes have larger spindles and drawtubes, but look the same except on very close examination.

Rivett Lathe & Grinder Corp. Type 1R or "Ball-bearing" watchmakers lathe, made from about 1946 to about 1950(?). The more common version (shown) has the bulbous box-casting base, but some were made with cast-iron pedestals.
